Some of the most popular anatomical landmarks for Dysport include the glabella, forehead, and crow’s feet, but did you know that Dysport can be used for more than just the wrinkles on your forehead and around the eyes? Dysport can be injected into various areas of the face and neck for an aesthetically pleasing appearance. These areas include:

Jelly Roll

The jelly roll is the area located directly below the eyes that creates horizontal wrinkles when smiling. These lines can be smoothed out with just a few units of Dysport.

Bunny Scrunch

As cute as the bunny scrunch sounds, this is an area of wrinkle to avoid. Bunny scrunch is the area on the upper nose that creates horizontal lines when squinting.

Lip Flip/Perioral lines

This is becoming an increasingly popular area for Dysport as it relaxes the upper lip muscle, preventing it from flipping under when smiling and giving it a slightly larger, flipped-outward appearance. It also prevents the lips from pursing together, creating vertical lines also known as perioral lines.

Gummy Smile

Do your gums show when you smile? This could be due to hyperfunctional lip elevator muscles. Injecting Dysport to this area will help relax the muscle without freezing your smile or limiting the expression around your mouth.  By targeting the elevating muscles, you can confidently smile bigger and brighter.

Downward Turn

Do your lips naturally draw down in the corner of your mouth at rest? This could be due to an overactive Depressor Anguli Oris (DAO) muscle. A few units of Dysport help by temporarily relaxing the downward pulling action of the DAO muscle, preventing future marionette lines.

Masseters

When a neuromodulator is injected into the jaw muscles, also known as the masseters, the muscles respond by losing some of their bulk, creating a slimming effect on your face. Masseter injections have also been beneficial with clients experiencing pain from TMJ.

Platysma Bands

Have you been considering a neck lift, but don’t want to commit to the cost and downtime that comes with surgery? Injected into the platysma bands, Dysport helps smooth the bands and decrease the lines on the neck to give the neck a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

Bring back youth and get baby soft kissable lips with this exciting new trend! Everyone is talking about Russian lips on their TikTok and all over Instagram lately. Have you been wondering what all the rave is about too? Russian lip filler technique is one of the latest and greatest trends in lip filler. It produces beautiful heart-shaped lips that are similar to those of a Russian nesting doll by focusing on height and volume centrally with tapered volume towards the sides creating stunning kissable lips. This technique took off quickly and is now known around the world by experienced injectors, clients with previous lip filler, and the treatment naïve. Want to know more about the Russian technique? Don’t let this trend takeoff leaving you in the dust. Read more now to find out how you can get amazing lips!

What is the Russian lip filler technique?

The Russian lip filler technique started over in Russia to resemble Russian nesting dolls. Russian nesting dolls have a very desirable lip shape with a pronounced Cupid’s bow and an overall heart-shaped lip. This technique focuses on increasing the lips height starting in the center of the lip with the Cupid’s bow and tapering using smaller amounts in vertical columns towards the lateral end of the lips. This adds natural volume with enhanced shape without much-added profile projection.

How is the Russian lip filler technique different from the normal technique?

Russian lip filler technique injects retrograde from the bottom up using a smaller needle than the normal technique. These small vertical columns of filler are placed to increase the height of the lips starting in the central portion of the lip at the cupid’s bow and then followed by a series of columns in continuously decreasing height tapered to the lateral end of the lip. This creates the top of the heart, and a similar technique is then done with vertical columns in the lower lip to complete this trendy look. The Russian technique can therefore achieve larger lips with a beautiful heart shape without as much forward projection and more height. The normal lip filler technique uses a larger needle injected horizontally following the natural shape of the lip which creates some added height and more forward projection.

How long do Russian lips last?

The Russian lip technique is most commonly used with Restylane Kysse. It is a longer lasting more natural feeling lip filler created from hyaluronic acid in a gel form. This usually will last about 9 to 12 months.

How much does the Russian lip technique cost?

At Couture Med Spa we charge the same as the normal technique so you don’t have to worry about any extra added cost, but it does take a little longer to inject with this highly specialized technique. The cost to have the Russian lip filler technique done with Restylane Kysse cost $475-$600 per treatment.

Can I get Russian lips if I currently have filler in my lips?

If this is your first time doing lip filler with the Russian technique it is advisable to have your filler dissolved completely with Hyaluronidase first to start with a clean slate for best results. If you currently have filler in your lips done with the Russian technique you do not need to have your filler dissolved and can add more to touch up or enhance the results 2 weeks after your last treatment.

Where can I get it done?

Even though the Russian lip filler technique is currently extremely trendy worldwide, not all injectors are experienced or offer this amazing technique. All our providers at Couture Med Spa are currently trained to do the Russian technique.
