What is a non-surgical butt lift?
As we age, fat pockets get lost and redistributed throughout the body. This not only occurs in the facial region, but the buttocks region as well. Loss of gluteal muscle and fat is secondary to weight loss, aging, and genetic predisposition. With Sculptra aesthetic, deep collagen growth is built up in the gluteal region to add volume and lift the buttocks for a smoother, rounder appearance.
How does Sculptra lift the butt?
Sculptra is an injectable filler that stimulates collagen growth in the skin. Sculptra is typically used in the face to help re-volumize, but recently it has been used to add volume to the buttocks which can improve the appearance of cellulite, skin texture, and crepiness.
Who is a candidate for a non-surgical butt lift?
- Clients who are not candidates for a surgical Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) or fat transfer procedure due to low body fat.
- Clients who are looking for a less invasive approach to a surgical lift of the buttocks.
- Clients who have volume loss in the upper buttocks, lack of lower buttocks fullness, or sides of the hips that need volume (aka hip dips).
How much does a non-surgical butt lift cost?
The cost will vary from person to person depending on the degree of volume loss. A butt lift with Sculptra can require anywhere from 18-30 vials (this includes both buttock cheeks) over 2-4 treatments every 6 to 8 weeks. You will need to consult with a provider to determine the number of vials you will need for optimal results.

What to expect pre-procedure?
It is recommended to avoid any blood thinning products 5-7 days prior to treatments to reduce the risk of bruising. This includes ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamin D, vitamin E, and Fish oils. It is also recommended to avoid drinking alcohol 3 days before. Some clients take arnica tablets a couple of days before the treatment to prevent risk of bruising.
For your first visit to Couture Med Spa, you will have paperwork to fill out beforehand which will include a medical history and consents for treatment. You will get our standard new client tour and consultation of the facility and services. You will then have a consultation with the provider to determine your treatment plan.
What to expect during the procedure?
Sculptra is not painful. You may feel some mild discomfort with the lidocaine injections, but the Sculptra injection is performed with a soft tip cannula which adds to the comfort of the treatment and allows for less risk of side effects such as swelling, bruising, and discomfort.
What to expect post procedure?
There is minimal downtime with Sculptra injections. You may experience some mild soreness after the treatment. You may also have some redness, bruising, swelling, firmness, lumps, or bumps at the injection sites. You will have swelling from the water injections post treatment which will decrease after 2 days. It is very important to perform massages on the treated area to avoid collagen lumps from developing. You must massage the area for 5 days, 5 times a day, for 5 minutes at a time.
When will I start seeing results?
You will begin seeing results around 3 months after your first injections and collagen will continue to grow in the treated area for up to 6 months after your last injection.
How long will the results last?
Sculptra in the buttock can last from 2-5 years. To keep the fullness and longevity of the product, an annual touch up with 2-4 vials is recommended. This may vary from person to person and your plan will be discussed with your provider during your consultation.

Do you feel like you look tired even if you’ve had a good night of sleep? You may benefit from tear trough filler! Aging can seem more prominent when we feel like we look tired but loss of volume underneath the eyes is a natural occurrence when we age. Tear trough filler can give your undereyes a youthful boost to make you feel more youthful!
Why do I look tired all the time and what are tear troughs?
As we get older we can start to lose fat pads in unwanted places of our face including the tear troughs. Tear troughs are located on the medial side under the eyes below the tear ducts and between the eye and orbital rim.
The origin of the word ‘trough’ comes from old English and Germanic language meaning a long shallow container or hollow vessel. Due to this volume lose we then start to notice ‘bags’ under our eyes due to the hollowness (not all ‘bags’ are due to swelling). Another effect that tear trough volume loss causes is darkness due to shadows that are casted upon the hollowed region and vascularity that causes a bluish-purplish hue that is made more visible due to lack of fat which usually acts as a blanket of the vessels.
How do tear trough fillers help?
Fillers can help by restoring our natural volume that we have lost over time. Tear trough fillers make us appear more youthful and well rested. It also acts as a blanket over the area that our fat pads use to cover up discoloration from the vessels below and reduce the shadows as the skin around the surrounding area is lifted. Hyaluronic acid fillers also attract water making the area more hydrated and healthy.
Who can I go to if I desire/need treatment?
When doing cosmetic procedures always assure that you are going to someone who is a well-trained licensed medical provider. Medical providers who are experienced in cosmetic fillers and who see a high volume of clients per month is essential when searching for someone to book tear trough (undereye) filler. Those medical providers can be MDs, DOs, PAs, and NPs usually trained in plastic and cosmetic surgery, cosmetic dermal fillers, and aesthetics. A license medical provider will examine and assess to see if dermal fillers for the tear troughs is best for you.
When will I notice the results?
Immediately! That is why dermal fillers are amazing. Am I a good candidate? Is it safe for me?
Dermal fillers are safe and FDA approved. Dermal filler for the tear troughs is great for most people, but there are a few factors that need to be evaluated before determining if you are a good candidate such as examining to ensure that the skin is not too thin for treatment. How long does it last?
Tear trough filler lasts about 9-12 months though results vary from person to person depending on how your body metabolizes hyaluronic fillers. It is also believed to be metabolized faster in individuals who exercise excessively. We recommend the use of Restylane-L hyaluronic dermal filler due to its lightweight, flexible, smooth appearance. There are also options without lidocaine anesthetic. If you are allergic to lidocaine that is no problem. After your consult, you can pre-purchase and we will order your lidocaine-free Restylane.
How much does it cost?
The cost can vary in the industry, but at Couture Med Spa we keep our prices competitive and affordable. Depending on your needs it usually takes about 1-2 syringes of Restylane-L dermal filler to treat the tear troughs. Each syringe is $575 for our non-members and clients under our membership opportunities get a discounted rate for $450 per syringe.
What are the possible side effects?
Dermal fillers are less invasive and have less discomfort with minimal down time and faster recovery in comparison to invasive cosmetic surgeries. During injection you may feel a slight sting before the lidocaine aesthetic starts to numb the area around the tear troughs. You may also experience a temporary ‘blinking’ sensation. As with all cosmetic procedures there are a few risks such has redness, swelling, and bruising as well as more rare side effects such as allergic reaction and vascular occlusion. Always choose an experienced medical provider with a proficient knowledge of facial anatomy prior to your consultation and procedure. Side effects usually resolve within two weeks.
Is there anything I can do to minimize the side effects and get the best results? What is the aftercare?
For best results avoid anything that may thin your blood for 5 to 7 days prior to your treatment. Some of the things that you can avoid are aspirin, NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen and Aleve, Omega 3, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, etc and other blood thinners that may be prescribed by your doctor.
Before coming off of any prescription medication please consult with your prescribing physician to ensure your safety. You may also take Arnica the week prior to your appointment to reduce the risk of bruising. After your treatment you may use Arnica gel to reduce swelling and bruising. It is also advised to avoid exercising, sun exposure, saunas, wearing glasses or anything else that may cause pressure on the filler during the first 48 hours. Please sleep on your back for the next 48 hours to avoid pressure on the treated area. Also please avoid cosmetic lasers, facials, or any other cosmetic procedure on the face for the next two weeks.
