BOTOX | DYSPORT

What is the average amount of units a person needs of Botox?

This varies from client to client and can range from 15-65 units or more based on what you are trying to achieve and strength of muscle movements. We have all advanced trained injectors in the top 3% of the nation that can consult with you to get your desired results.

Do I have to be a member to get Botox?

We offer the best Botox and Dysport treatments to everyone!

What’s the difference between Botox/Dysport and filler?

Great question! Botox/Dysport is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles causes by muscle movement in areas such as in between the eyebrows, forehead lines, and the wrinkles next to our eyes when we smile. Fillers are used to replace volume, plump lips, and fill depose lines such as lifting face by filling the cheeks, enhancing your lips, or erasing your laugh lines around your mouth.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Couture Med Spa offers two types of neurotoxins known as Botox and Dysport. Botox and Dysport are both FDA approved neurotoxins designed to relax the muscles for about 3-4 months on average. Botox is a bigger molecule and can take about 5-7 days to start working within the muscles and takes 14 days to reach full effect. Dysport is smaller molecule and starts working within the muscles in about 2-3 days and just like Botox takes 14 days to reach full potential. Both are great products used by many clients and both products have reward programs that allow clients to acquire points when doing treatments that can lead to money off for future treatments.

What neurotoxins are used at Couture Med Spa?

Botox and Dysport

How long does it last?

Botox and Dysport are FDA approved to work up to 4 months. The longevity of the treatment will vary between clients depending on number of units, lifestyle, and age. Most clients return for treatment after about 3-4 months.

When will I see results?

Botox typically starts to work in 5-7 days, and Dysport typically starts to work in 2-3 days. Both products can take up to 2 full weeks to hit their peak for maximum results.

Does it hurt?

The needle is small, and ice will be applied for comfort. It typically feels like an ant bite.

Will I still have facial expressions?

The provider will assess you and depending on what you are looking for the provider can give you as much or as little movement as you would like.

Does it conflict with antibiotics?

Botox is not indicated to be affected by the vast majority of antibiotics used to fight infections.

What areas can Botox/Dysport be used?

Glabella (11’s), Forehead, and crow’s feet (around eyes) are the most common. Other areas include bunny scrunch (nose), Jelly Roll (under eyes), lip flip, gummy smile, masseters (jaw muscle), chin, DAO (downward turn on mouth), platysma bands (neck), and under arms (hyperhidrosis).

Can I use Botox to treat certain medical conditions?

Besides the use of Botox for hyperhidrosis we only treat Botox aesthetically however, it is possible that it can help relieve some of the symptoms you may be feeling.

LASER HAIR

Do you offer Laser Hair Removal?

Yes! We offer that treatment at all four of our locations.

Do I need to shave before Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal is different than waxing and it is recommended to shave prior to the treatment. CMS recommends that clients shave the treatment area the night before the treatment to avoid any irritation from shaving and to avoid singeing the hair. When shaved, the laser does not just singe the top of the hair follicle that is visible, but rather is able to penetrate down deeper to the stem cells at the root of the hair follicle, thus allowing for a more effective treatment.

How many treatments will I need for Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal is a series of treatments that requires a minimum of 6 treatments. Depending on some factors such as skin type, the color of the hair, coarseness, and density of the hair can contribute to the number of treatments necessary for hair reduction. Most clients report a reduction of 10-20% reduces hair growth with each treatment.

What do I need to do to prep before I come in for treatment?

Two weeks prior to your Laser Hair Removal treatment you want to avoid active sun exposure, self-tanners on the treated area, and plucking, waxing, or epilating the hair. The day before your treatment, have the area clean and clean-shaven. Some medications can make you sensitive to light (i.e. antibiotics) so please notify the staff of any new medications. If you use any topical creams such as Retin-a/retinol, you want to avoid that on the treated area for 5-7 days prior to your laser treatment.

How long does the Laser Hair Removal treatment take?

This will vary depending on the area being treated, client tolerance, and size of the area. 15 minutes are allotted per treatment area for this appointment.  The laser is highly efficient in targeting multiple hairs with each pulse making it quicker and less painful

Is Laser Hair Removal painful?

Laser Hair Removal feels like a hot rubber band snap on the skin, but only while the laser is firing.   The Vectus laser comes with a cooling sapphire tip which will distract from this sensation resulting in a relatively comfortable treatment. Depending on the area and the thickness of the hair will impact the level of discomfort.

What areas can I get done for Laser Hair Removal?

At Couture Med Spa we treat most areas of the body. The only areas not included are: Brazilian, perianal, glutes, forehead, and top of the head.

Is there downtime with Laser Hair Removal?

There is no downtime with Laser Hair Removal treatment.

What do I need to know after my Laser Hair Removal treatment?

A mild sunburn-like sensation is expected. This usually lasts 2-24 hours but can persist up to 72 hours. Mild swelling and redness may accompany this, but it usually resolves in 2-3 days. Apply cooling to the treatment areas needed for discomfort. Until redness has resolved avoid the following: using cosmetics, hot tubs, jacuzzi, swimming pools, or activities that cause excessive perspiration, sun exposure, tanning, or harsh exfoliants to the treated areas. We recommend that you avoid shaving the treated area for 3 days and application of hydrocortisone or aloe to red or itchy areas.

What is considered a small, medium, and large area for Laser Hair Removal?

Small areas: Sideburns, upper lip, chin, glabella, nose, fingers, toes, happy trail, cheeks

Medium areas: Underarms, bikini line, abdomen, shoulders, lip and chin, hands, feet

Large areas: Full front of neck (jawline down), back of neck, full face, upper arms, lower arms, upper legs, lower legs, upper back, lower back, chest, inner thighs.

Why is Laser Hair Removal spaced out every 6 weeks?

The hair growth cycle changes every 6 weeks, and the hair follicle must be in the anagen phase to destroy the follicle. When doing a Laser Hair removal treatment, it takes the body the full 6 weeks to fully purge the old hair from the hair follicle and change phases.

What age can client’s start Laser Hair Removal treatments?

Couture Med Spa allows clients to start laser hair removal treatments at age 17 with parental consent. Parents must come to initial consultation and be there for minors first treatment to understand treatment plan as well as pre and post care for the minor. For future appointments, the client can come to appointment without parent present as long as consent is signed.

Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?

Laser hair removal will give you permanent hair reduction but there are many factors that can cause growth of vellus follicles or regrowth overtime (i.e. hormonal imbalance, disease process, certain medications, and supplements). The treatment destroys hair follicles to slow/stun/stop hair growth & makes the hair grow back thinner, touch-ups over time may be necessary.

TATTOO REMOVAL

How many tattoo removal sessions would I need?

Tattoo removal varies from person to person since there are many factors that play into the removal process. The age of the tattoo, where the tattoo is located, and the colors of tattoo ink are all factors that can determine the amount of treatment sessions a client may need. If the tattoo is older in age, the ink has had a longer time to get deep into the layers of the skin thus requiring more sessions. Colors like red, blue, green, will also take longer than black ink to remove. Couture Med Spa offers a variety of memberships that allow clients to treat unwanted tattoos.

Does removing tattoos hurt?

Pain tolerance varies greatly from person to person. We make the process as painless as we can by using a topical numbing cream prior to each session. The provider treating you will walk you through the whole process and will do everything possible to make you comfortable. For safety reasons, we don’t allow the use of personal topical numbing agents.

How long does each session take?

Upon arrival for your appointment, a topical numbing cream will be placed on the treatment area for about 10-15 minutes. Depending on the size of the tattoo and pain tolerance, tattoo removal can be completed within a few seconds to a few minutes. Usually, the numbing process takes longer than the actual treatment time. After that treatment, a bandage will be applied to protect the area. The entire appointment takes about 15-20 minutes in total.

What should I expect after my tattoo removal session?

After tattoo removal, the treatment area will be bandaged for protection. We advise that you stay out of the sun and keep the tattoo covered until it has healed. We also want you to avoid submersion of the treated area in any bodies of water i.e., lakes, rivers, or pools to avoid infection. Some clients may experience peeling or scabbing of the treated area, which is normal, and we recommend keeping the area moist and covered until it heals.

What do you use for numbing during tattoo removal treatments?

Couture Med Spa uses a 6% lidocaine based BLT numbing cream applied to the treatment area. CMS does not allow outside numbing agents to be brought in for treatment due to patient safety.

FRACTIONAL LASER

Is there a lot of downtime with fractional laser?

Couture Med Spa offers a Non-ablative Fractional laser that is used to retexturize/resurface the skin, boost collagen production, tighten the skin and shrink pore size. The fractional laser penetrates to the deep dermal layer of the skin to cause inflammation which in return helps promote collagen production. With the inflammation process occurring from the laser, clients will feel a mild sunburn sensation and have some slight redness and possible swelling to the treatment area that will generally diminish within a few hours. Clients will not have any significant peeling or downtime from this laser treatment. Post treatment recommendations include avoiding excessive sweating or use of makeup for the first 24 hours, as well as avoiding any harsh products for 5-7 days after treatment.

What are the most common areas of treatment for the fractional laser?

Most people choose to focus on the face, neck, chest, hands and any scarring or stretch marks.

How many fractional treatments will I need?

Every client is different and we all build collagen at different rates depending on age, lifestyle, gender etc., but it is recommended to treat each area of interest at least 3-6 times.

How should I prepare for my fractional?

Make sure treatment area is clean and free of makeup or lotions prior to treatment. Avoid using harsh chemicals on the treatment area 5-7 days prior to treatment (ex: tretinoin, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, etc.). Avoid oral antibiotics, prolonged sun exposure, other laser treatments or chemical peels to the area within two weeks prior to your laser appointment.

Can I do multiple treatment areas in one appointment?

Due to the use of topical lidocaine, it is recommended to do one area per treatment (treatment area size is about a half sheet of legal paper) to avoid lidocaine toxicity.

How long does a fractional treatment take?

Due to the numbing process, clients should plan to be here for about an hour. You will come in for your topical numbing placement which will be on for about 30-45 minutes, and the treatment takes about 5-15 minutes.

Do I have to numb for laser treatments?

per our policy we do require you to numb for a minimum of 30 minutes for our fractional treatments and a minimum of 15 minutes for our Laser tattoo removal treatments.

Emsculpt uses high-intensity electromagnetic therapy that works on the motor neuron in the muscle to build and tone. Emsculpt causes muscle contractions that are not able to be achieved through voluntary movements. One Emsculpt session is equal to 20,000 squats, bicep curls, triceps or sit ups, depending on area being treated.

Skinpen Microneedling

What is SkinPen?

SkinPen® results have been graded based on the G.Lemperle Wrinkle Assessment Scale, the Clinician’s Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (CGAIS), and the Subject Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS). The research is clear.

How Does It Work?

SkinPen® creates hundreds to thousands of “micro” skin punctures per second to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process – inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling – to prompt tissue remodeling without causing scar tissue formation. Most patients can return to normal activities within 24 hours.

Why Use It?

SkinPen® is clinically proven to fight the appearance of neck wrinkles and reduce the appearance of acne scars. In fact, 90% of subjects in the clinical trial would recommend the treatment to friends and family. It’s a minimally invasive procedure performed in-office with little to no downtime. As the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, SkinPen sets the industry standard for safety.

Will It Work For Me?

Unlike some alternatives, SkinPen® has been clinically proven to be effective for women and men with with all Fitzpatrick Skin Types I – VI. Likewise, unlike lasers or chemical peels that can damage skin over the long term, SkinPen treatments, when properly spaced and overseen by a physician, can be used for years.

Is It Safe?

Yes, by design. SkinPen’s patented – and single-use – sterile needle cartridge is built with safety in mind. SkinPen® is also surrounded by a custom-designed BioSheath that acts as a barrier to prevent cross contamination between procedures. That’s part of the reason SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics is the world’s first FDA-cleared microneedling device. Learn more by reviewing our patient labeling document.

Who Should Not Use It?

SkinPen® should not be used on patients who have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s); open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s); an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics; a hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction; are pregnant or nursing; or are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Accutane). Talk to your doctor to see if this treatment is right for you.

What About SkinPen Did the FDA Clear?

Quite a bit. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s clearance covers not only the SkinPen® device but the entire protocol. That includes the Skinfuse Lift HG hydrogel used to protect against abrasion and friction during the treatment, as well as the custom-designed BioSheath to prevent cross contamination.
