Over the last few years, we’ve seen an exciting rise in the use of GLP-1 and GIP peptides for weight loss. More people are turning to these treatments to help manage obesity, finally finding relief from constant food noise and poor eating habits. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are now recognized as effective weight loss solutions for individuals who have struggled to maintain a healthy weight.
At Couture Med Spa, our peptide therapy offers a personalized, science-backed approach to weight loss, tailored to your unique goals. Here, we’ll walk you through the appointment process, key questions to ask, and what to expect after starting treatment.
GLP-1 and GIP are important gut-derived hormones that play a key role in regulating glucose metabolism and appetite. These hormones have paved the way for GLP-1 agonist weight loss treatments like semaglutide, providing new solutions for weight loss beyond traditional methods—even for those without diabetes. Tirzepatide, a GLP-1/GIP co-agonist, is also showing promising results, marking a shift in how we approach weight loss.
Semaglutide and tirzepatide are both injectable medications that can help with weight loss by reducing appetite and slowing digestion. Semaglutide and tirzepatide mimic a hormone that regulates appetite and blood sugar. It slows stomach emptying and reduces cravings.

At your initial consultation with your Couture Med Spa expert provider, you’ll discuss your weight loss goals and review your health history. We’ll take measurements, including your weight, height, body mass index, and muscle mass to get a complete picture of where you’re starting. Your provider will also review possible side effects and how to manage them.
To ensure the best care, make sure you’ve had blood work done with your primary care physician within the last 12 months before your appointment.
Once your goals are aligned, your provider will administer your first injection and schedule weekly follow-up visits. These appointments help us track your progress, adjust your dosage as needed, and ensure you respond well to the treatment.
It’s important to feel confident and informed, so don’t hesitate to ask questions. Some common peptide therapy questions include:
Your provider is here to answer any questions and make sure you feel comfortable with your treatment plan.
After starting your peptide therapy, follow-up appointments will typically be brief—around 15 minutes. We’ll take your measurements, discuss any concerns, and administer your next injection. Weekly appointments help ensure the best results, but if scheduling every week isn’t possible, talk to your provider about “take-home injections” so you can stay on track.
Our goal at Couture Med Spa is to make your weight loss journey as smooth and supportive as possible, helping you achieve your goals with the confidence you deserve.
