The New Year is finally upon us!  While you probably already have some New Year’s resolutions for 2021, you may not have planned to invest in your skin. Let’s change that.

With the skin being the largest organ in the body, it also deserves a little tender love and care. Couture Med Spa offers a variety of medical-grade skincare products that can help transform your skin. To help you jump start this New Year, new skin journey, we have listed a basic skincare routine that is essential for everyone and all skin types.

Step 1: Cleanse

Cleaning is a vital step in any basic skincare routine. Cleansing the skin allows clients to remove any excess oils, dirt, or makeup from the skin. It is important to cleanse the skin to avoid clogging the pores which could cause more oil production and breakouts. A client favorite here at Couture Med Spa is our Couture Antioxidant Cleanser. The Couture Antioxidant cleanser is rich in antioxidants and natural botanicals such as green tea that gently foam and cleanse the skin while providing nourishment and restoring the skin for a healthier and more radiant look.

Step 2: Toner

The next step in any basic skincare routine after cleansing is to use a toner. Toners on the skin act to help close the pores and tighten the skin cell gaps after cleansing thus reducing the number of environmental contaminants into the skin. Toning the skin allows the skin to restore its natural pH balance while smoothing and calming the skin. Couture Med Spa has a Couture Antioxidant Toning Mist that helps brighten dull skin and redefine the skin complexion. The toning mist is one of my personal favorite products! I use it daily and love how it reduces redness on my face while leaving a tight, clean feel. So this doesn’t just tone that body for a new you, let's start toning the face as well!

Step 3: Moisturize

A lot of clients have the misconception of how much hydration the skin needs. I know as an oily skinned person, I used to be afraid to moisturize my skin in fear of producing more oil on my face where I already have increased oil production.  However, moisturizing the skin is an important step to maintain your skin’s healthy cells and to protect against irritation. Fun fact: Dry skin can cause more oil production and breakouts. When I started using Couture Med Spa’s Moisturizing Day Cream, I noticed my skin getting clearer and less oil production. The Moisturizing Day Cream is a very light moisturizer that is enriched with soothing aloe vera and antioxidants to achieve smoother and softer skin while minimizing radical-induced skin damage.

Step 4: Sunscreen

The last step in a basic skincare routine is sunscreen. Living in Florida, we are constantly experiencing sun exposure even when we are not purposely laying out. Sun exposure over time leads to brown pigmentation on the skin which then ages a person. The Couture Mineral Tinted Sunscreen has an SPF of 50 and a zinc oxide content of 11% which provides clients with outstanding protection from the sun. This sunscreen is lightweight for everyday wear beneath makeup and is also water-resistant for up to 40 minutes. Clients really love that it also provides a slightly tinted coverage for an overall even complexion appearance.

Couture Med Spa offers numerous other medical-grade products that can be incorporated into a client’s skincare routine based on their skin needs. A consultation with one of our experienced nurse practitioners or licensed estheticians is available at any of our three locations. We look forward to helping you transition into a new you starting with new skin for 2021!
