Dysport is a neurotoxin that helps relax the muscles to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the skin. Dysport is FDA approved to last up to 3 to 4 months depending on the client’s metabolism which will last well through this holiday season.

One of my favorite advantages of Dysport is that it is a smaller molecule than some other neurotoxins. Dysport starts to work faster once injected in the muscles, which can be beneficial during holiday crunch time. Clients start to see improvement within 2 to 3 days with some decreased muscle movement, but Dysport can take two full weeks to reach its full effect, like other neurotoxins. Neurotoxin injections like Dysport are nearly painless here at Couture Med Spa and can be done quickly so clients can go about their busy holiday schedules.

Side Effects of Dysport

The side effects of Dysport are very minimal and will not put a damper on your holiday plans. After the injection, there are little bumps of the product that can be seen on the skin for about 15 minutes to an hour for some clients. After the product disperses into the muscle, the little bumps go away. Clients rarely bruise from neurotoxin injections since the injection needle is very small but if a bruise occurs, it easily can be covered by makeup and will go away quickly within a few days. At times, clients can experience a headache as the product is spreading into the muscle but with Dysport being a smaller molecule, headaches are less reported.

Typical Dysport Treatment Areas at Couture Med Spa

At Couture Med Spa, the most common treatment areas where Dysport can be injected are the forehead, glabella (which is in between the eyebrows), crow’s feet (around the eyes), jelly roll (beneath the eye), the perioral lines above the lip, and bunny scrunch (on the sides of the nose).

With all these common areas, the goal is to relax the muscles so that the muscles do not continue to move the skin, which overtime creates fine lines and wrinkles in those areas on your face.
