As the aesthetic field continues to grow, so does the demand for non-surgical cosmetic procedures/treatments. Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, Botox, and Restylane, are also becoming one of the top treatments for many different facial enhancements, as they can be placed in various areas of the facial structure — including the chin!

If you’re someone who feels self-conscious about a double chin or undefined jawline, this post is for you! You deserve to look and feel beautiful! Could a dermal filler be the answer to some of your biggest insecurities?

How Chin Filler Works

Dermal filler can be injected into the chin to make you look younger and feel more beautiful. During the aging process, the skull rotates and the chin moves backward. This skull movement leads to a breakdown of bone and soft tissue in the chin area, resulting in reduced structural support in the lower face.  We can use filler to improve facial harmony by strengthening the jawline and chin to soften jowls, improve “double chins”, or to give a stronger more defined jawline.

How long do fillers last in the chin?

Chin augmentation using fillers, such as JUVÉDERM VOLUMA, can produce results that last between 15 and 24 months.

What to expect after a dermal filler?

After a cosmetic dermal filler injection, your chin is likely to feel sore and heavy for a few days. You should avoid exercise and hard chewing during this time.  Facials, facial lasers, or anything that would cause pressure on the treated area should be avoided for 2 weeks as the filler is still moldable and not fully settled during this time. After this period, your chin will be firm and accompany a more defined jawline that will make you look years younger!
